Science Diploma
Description
The Science Diploma was announced by the Secretary of State in October 2007 as one of three new subject-related Diplomas (Humanities, Science and Languages). The Diplomas are qualifications for 14-19 year olds and teaching for the level one and two Science Diploma is due to begin in 2011 and level three in 2012.
The Diploma is currently being developed by the Science Diploma Development Partnership, which is informed by several working groups including the science community, higher education and employers.
Informed by the science community
In early 2008, SCORE commissioned a piece of research looking at the Science Diploma and this included consultation with a wide range of stakeholders. The SCORE partners' Education Policy Boards regularly discuss the Diploma Development.
