Royal Society of Chemistry
The Royal Society of Chemistry
is the largest organisation in Europe for advancing the chemical
sciences. Supported by a worldwide network of members and an
international publishing business, activities span education,
conferences, science policy and the promotion of chemistry to the
public.
The RSC is committed to supporting the teaching of
chemistry within the primary, secondary and post-16
phases. It produces a number of teaching resources
to enhance the teaching of the chemical
sciences, including the bimonthly magazine Education in
Chemistry.
The RSC runs a number of initiatives to attract
students to the chemical sciences from all parts of society,
including its involvement with the HE STEM
Programme and the Pfizer funded programme Discover
Chemistry. The Society also supports continued
professional development for teachers.
Chemistry for Non-Specialists is a high quality training
programme designed to provide teachers with the
confidence, flair and enthusiasm to teach chemistry at KS3 or
KS4.
