School and college workforce
SCORE's vision is for every student to be taught by high quality
teachers of the sciences with expertise in the subject area they
teach, and for teachers to be supported by high quality technicians
and teaching assistants
The SCORE partnership has established a policy group to look
into the definition of a specialist teacher in the sciences. The
group will also consider policy issues surrounding the recruitment
and retention of specialist teachers in the sciences.
SCORE has commissioned a small scale scoping survey to
investigate the current context of Science Education and how this
may influence the motivations and intended exit routes of PGCE
science trainees who have undertaken enhancement programmes in
physics and chemistry.
